HONG KONG IDENTITY CARD
Hong Kong residents (a 'resident' in this context means any person who is not a transit passenger and is staying for more than 180 days) who are aged 11 and above are required by law to register within 30 days of their arrival for the issuance of a Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID Card).
HKID Card is issued in the form of a smart card, embedded with an integrated circuit or a “chip” that stores and processes data.
